obdobje zgodnjega mladostništva

Abstract

Secondary title: The parental figure of a father: the early adolescence
Secondary abstract: With the development of postmodern society, which is significantly marked by the pluralization of life, the role of the father and involvement in the life of the child or adolescent is also developing and changing. In the master's thesis we were interested in the role of the father in adolescence, which is considered one of the most intense periods of an individual's life, in which, in addition to physical development, the adolescent's personality is formed and developed. In the empirical part, we investigated a sample of 150 fathers whose adolescents attend the 9th grade of primary school, researched which methods of three parenting styles (democratic, authoritarian and permissive) fathers most often use, how they promote independence and identity formation, and how often if at all, they work with the school and offer help to the young person with school obligations at home. The findings were examined according to age, level of education, place of residence and marital status of the father. The most differences were shown between younger and older fathers. On average, fathers mostly use a democratic upbringing style; younger and more educated fathers to a greater extent encourage adolescent independence and identity formation; cooperate more with the school and to a greater extent help the adolescent with homework, learning and preparing seminar assignments and papers.
