Vpliv starševskega vzgojnega stila na starostarševski vzgojni stil

Povzetek

Za vsakega posameznika, ki se znajde v vlogi vzgojitelja, je značilen določen vzgojni stil ali več teh. Tudi stari starši v odnosu z vnuki uporabljajo vzgojne stile, ki se izoblikujejo pod vplivom raznih dejavnikov. V magistrskem delu smo najprej predstavili nekaj teoretičnih izhodišč v povezavi z družino, vzgojo in starševskimi vzgojnimi stili ter medgeneracijskim prenosom vzgojnih stilov, nato pa smo se osredotočili na obdobje starega starševstva, pomen starih staršev in stile starega starševstva. Za namen raziskave, v okviru katere smo preučevali starševske in starostarševske vzgojne stile, povezave med njimi in dejavnike, ki vplivajo na oblikovanje starostarševskih vzgojnih stilov, smo oblikovali vprašalnik, ki ga je izpolnilo 191 starih staršev. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da prevladuje formalni stil starega starševstva, ki mu tesno sledi staro starševstvo kot zabava. Pri dedkih je najpogostejši stil staro starševstvo kot posoda modrosti, pri babicah pa staro starševstvo kot zabava, kar je hkrati tudi najbolj prisotno pri mlajših starih starših. Oddaljeni stil je bolj značilen za razvezane stare starše in prevladuje v primerih, ko imajo stari starši hladne odnose s starši svojih vnukov oziroma z njimi nimajo stika. Ugotovili smo, da je za tiste stare starše, ki so v obdobju starševstva uporabljali predvsem razvajajoči in zanemarjajoči vzgojni stil, bolj značilno nadomestno starševstvo v odnosu z vnuki. Tisti, ki so se posluževali avtoritarnega vzgojnega stila, so v odnosu z vnuki prav tako pogosteje v vlogi nadomestnega starša in posode modrosti.

Sekundarni povzetek:	Every person that is involved in the process of raising children is characterized by a certain parenting style or even several of them. Grandparents also use their own (grand)parenting styles that are formed under the influence of various factors. In the master's thesis we first presented the theoretical background connected to the concepts of family, raising children and parenting styles as well as the intergenerational transmission of parenting styles. We later focused on grandparenthood, the importance of grandparents and the styles of grandparenting. For the purpose of this research, within which we studied various parenting and grandparenting styles, the connections between them and the factors that influence the formation of grandparenting styles, we designed a questionnaire that was filled out by 191 grandparents. The results of the survey showed that the formal grandparenting style predominates and is closely followed by the fun-seeking grandparenting style. The most common style among grandfathers is the reservoir of family wisdom, while grandmothers tend to be the fun seekers, which is also the style that is more typical of younger grandparents. The distant grandparenting style is more common among divorced grandparents and prevails in cases where the grandparents have a distant relationship with their grandchildren's parents or have no contact with them at all. We found that the grandparents who predominantly used indulgent or neglectful parenting styles when rearing their own children, are more likely to act as surrogate parents in the relationship with their grandchildren. Similarly, those who used an authoritarian parenting style also more often take on the role of a surrogate parent or of the reservoir of family wisdom.
