Abstract

Secondary title: Interactive relations between the nursing and medical team
Secondary abstract: ABSTRACT Theoretical starting-point: Interacting relations are important factor affecting the welfare of participants. In a health system the nursing and medical team has formed and they are in the interacting and interdependend situation. They continuously coordinate and connect. Members differ from each other in professional qualifications and also in social-demografic factors. Purpose: In our diploma paper we wanted to determine what are interactive relations in the health care; we presented relavant factors affecting the interactive relationships between participants in the nursing and medical team and how these relations reflect in the welfare of employees and consequently on the quality of work in the team. Method: The research was based on the quantitative methodology. Survey questions were open-ended. The sample survey included 67 members of the nursing and medical team at the Clinic for Surgery of University Clinical Center in Maribor. Results: The data we have acquired on completion of the research suggest that in the working teams there is still no equality as confirm 42 % of respondents. The medical personnel still enjoy privileged positions, which expressed 69 %. Some socio-demographic factors have the major impact on interactive relations, especially in education and age, but the social status and the gender however, in the opinion of the respondents, have only a slight impact on interactive relations. A lot of respondents, especially those with secondary education, want some changes in working conditions due to lack of hospital staff and they also want more respectful and egalitarian attitude from doctors and superior nurses. Conclusion: From the research it is evident that interacting relations play the important role at teamwork proceedings with patients. In the nursing and medical team there is still hierarchical organization which certainly has the impact on relations within the team, however, the vast majority is still satisfied with their interacting relations in their work environment.
