Abstract

Magistrsko delo z naslovom Vloga romskega pomočnika pri vzgoji in izobraževanju romskih otrok v teoretičnem delu predstavi romsko skupnost, vzgojo in izobraževanje Romov in podrobneje predstavlja vlogo romskega pomočnika v vzgojno-izobraževalnem procesu. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati pol strukturiranih intervjujev, ki smo jih izvedli z romskimi učenci, starši romskih otrok in učitelji, ki romske učence poučujejo. Z raziskavo smo želeli izvedeti, kakšna je splošna motiviranost romskih otrok za udeleževanje aktivnosti v okviru vzgoje in izobraževanja, kakšen pomen ima romski pomočnik pri vzgoji in izobraževanju romskih otrok, kako so udeleženci raziskave zadovoljni z delom romskega pomočnika ter posebnosti, s katerimi so se intervjuvanci srečevali pri izobraževanju na daljavo v času epidemije COVID-19. Ugotovili smo, da je splošna motiviranost romskih otrok v naši raziskavi za udeleževanje aktivnosti v okviru vzgoje in izobraževanja sorazmerno visoka. Zasluge gre pripisati romskemu pomočniku, ki s svojo prisotnostjo in delom v vzgojno-izobraževalni ustanovi pomembno prispeva k vzgoji in izobraževanju romskih otrok. Glede tega se strinjajo tako romski učenci, starši romskih otrok in učitelji, ki romske učence poučujejo. Osrednjo vlogo ima pri spodbujanju romskih učencev k rednemu obiskovanju pouka in opravljanju domačih nalog ter drugih šolskih obveznosti, velik doprinos je zaznati tudi pri vzpostavljanju komunikacije s starši romskih otrok in nudenju učne pomoči. Spoznali smo, da so intervjuvanci zadovoljni z delom, ki ga opravlja romski pomočnik. Ugotovili smo, da so se pojavljale težave pri šolanju na daljavo v času epidemije COVID-19, saj romski učenci nimajo ustrezne informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije, opazno je pomanjkanje učne pomoči, ki so je učenci deležni v šoli, nespodbudno domače okolje težave samo še dodatno krepi in stopnjuje. Glede na navedbe romskih staršev in učiteljev smo ugotovili, da je pomoč romskega pomočnika v času šolanja na daljavo prisotna, a ne na tak način, da bi se težave pojavljale v manjši meri.

Secondary title: The role of a Roma assistant in education of the Roma children
Secondary abstract: Master's thesis with title The role of a Roma assistant in education of the Roma children in the theoretical part presents Roma community, education of Roma and presents in more detail the role of the Roma assistant in the educational process. In the empirical part are presented results of semi-structured interviews, which we performed with Roma students, parents of Roma children and teachers who teach Roma students. With the research we wanted to find out what is the general motivation of Roma children to participate in the activities in the context of education, what is the importance of the Roma assistant in the education of Roma children, how satisfied the survey participants are with the work of the Roma assistant and special features, which the interviewees encountered in distance education during the COVID-19 epidemic. We found out that the general motivation of Roma children in our research to participate in activities in the context of education is relatively high. The credit goes to the Roma assistant who with his presence and work in the educational institution makes an important contribution to the education of Roma children. Roma students, parents of Roma children and teachers who teach Roma students agree on this. It plays a central role in encouraging Roma students to attend school regularly and do their homework and other school obligations, a great contribution can also be seen in establishing communication with the parents of Roma children and providing learning assistance. We found that the interviewees are satisfied with the work done by the Roma assistant. We found that there were problems with distance learning during the COVID-19 epidemic, because Roma students do not have adequate information and communication technology, there is a noticeable lack of learning support that students receive in school, the uninspiring home environment only exacerbates and intensifies the problem. According to the statements of Roma parents and teachers we found out that the help of a Roma assistant was present during distance learning, but not in such a way as to cause problems to a lesser extent.
