Secondary abstract: | Global communication allows the exchange of information betwen individuals and groups from all over the world. Many misunderstandings and conflicts arise from cultural characteristics of each nation. These occur on both verbal and non verbal level, special attention is devoted by business intercultural communication. The Master thesis handles the influence of culture on non-verbal intercultural communication betwen Chinese and Slovene culture. We assume that the misunderstandings arise from intercultural differences and occur at multiple levels of communication. The hypothesis is tested through a case study of one the famous Slovenian casino on the basis of qualitative research. In conclusion, we present the results of research. The main contribution of this work is a constructive proposal to improve communication between the two cultures in the service sector. |
