magistrsko delo
Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava temo holokavsta v izbranih mladinskih delih. Neposredna pričevalca holokavsta sta Anne Frank in Elie Wiesel, medtem ko ostali avtorji niso sami izkusili holokavsta, vendar z literaturo ozaveščajo bralce o njem. Obravnavana leposlovna dela pomembno prispevajo k poznavanju holokavsta in spodbujajo k poglobljenemu premisleku o človeških vrednotah in smislu vojne.

Selected youth works on the holocaust |
Secondary abstract: |
The Masters' thesis focuses on the Holocaust theme present in the selected youth works. The first part of the thesis provides a theoretical framework capturing a short world war two overview, a description of the most well-known concentration camps as Auschwitz, Dachau and Mauthausen, definitions of the Holocaust and youth literature, features of literary works on the Holocaust and the description of literary genres of the analysed works that carry the topic of the Holocaust, with the emphasis on journals, memoirs and historical novels. The Holocaust, a systematic genocide perpetrated by Nazi Germany and its allies during the second world war, inspired many authors. The analysis of all sixteen works, the majority of which are historical novels, is based on their form (the number of chapters) and narrative structure (plot, material, themes, motifs, ideas, features of the characters, time and setting, the narrator, language, style, ideas and message). The analysed texts are categorized according to whether the author is also a character or narrator of the work (journals, memoirs) or not involved in a story (historical short stories, tales, historical novels). Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel are direct witnesses of the Holocaust, while other authors have not experienced the Holocaust, yet they make their readers aware of it. The following works significantly contribute to the knowledge of the Holocaust and encourage deeper deliberation on human values and the point of the war. |
