Abstract

Secondary title: The View of Employees of a Centre of Social Work on Practical Training of Social Work Students
Secondary abstract: In my graduation thesis, I research the view of employees of a Centre of Social Work on practical training of social work students. I was interested in factors that contribute to the Centre of Social Work applying as a learning base for practical training of social work students and what contributes to the decision of employees to accept the role of mentors. I researched the cooperation of mentors on a selected learning base with mentors from the Faculty of Social Work. Lastly, I wanted to know what the contribution of social work students is to work on a selected learning base. I obtained the results by carrying out a survey among the social workers employed in selected divisions of the Centre of Social Work and conducting interviews with their supervisors. Participants in the research recognized motivation, engagement, and self-initiative in social work students during their practical training. Factors influencing the selected learning base's decision to apply for the vacancy for practical training of social work students are primarily organizational. The selected learning bases perform practical training without official application for the tender. Mentors accept this role based on personal motives and obtained benefits. The results show that it would be necessary to provide unified funding for mentors at the Centres of Social Work and establish more communication between mentors from learning bases and mentors from the faculty.
