Abstract

V zaključnem delu smo raziskali prikaz Toskane v filmu Under the Tuscan Sun (Pod toskanskim soncem) z namenom proučevanja vloge filmov pri ustvarjanju podobe destinacije. V začetnem delu smo postavili teoretično podlago, ki je zajemala turizem na splošno, zgodovino filmov, pojav filmskega turizma in vlogo podobe destinacije znotraj tega. Obenem smo na določenih primerih predstavili sestavne dele filmskega turizma. S tem smo pridobili boljše razumevanje lastnosti, ki povezujejo turizem in filme. Zatem smo opisali Toskano ter lokacije in znamenitosti, ki so povezane z zgoraj omenjenim filmom. Ključni del naloge sta sestavljala analiza filma ter anketiranje, ki smo ga izvedli preko spleta. Rezultati anket pred in po ogledu filma so nam pomagali razumeti vlogo filma Under the Tuscan Sun pri ustvarjanju podobe destinacije Toskane. Spoznali smo, da film ni v večji meri vplival na podobo destinacije. Po njegovem ogledu pa so se največ spremenili elementi, ki pojasnijo njegovo pomembnost kot vrsta promocije za destinacijo. Na koncu smo podali naše ugotovitve ter predloge za nadaljnje raziskave.

Secondary title: Display of Tuscany in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun
Secondary abstract: In our thesis we explored the display of Tuscany in the film Under the Tuscan Sun in order to study the role of films in creating a destination image. In the initial part, we set the theoretical basis covering tourism, the history of films, the occurrence of film tourism and the role of the destination image within it. At the same time we have presented the components of film tourism through some examples. This has given us a better understanding of the characteristics that link tourism and films. We then described Tuscany and the locations and sights linked to the aforementioned film. The key part of the assignment consisted of an analysis of the film and of a survey, which we conducted online. The results of the pre- and post-screening surveys helped us understand the role of the film Under the Tuscan Sun in creating the destination image of Tuscany. We came to the conclusion that the film did not have a major impact on the destination image. However, the elements that have changed the most after its screening explain its importance as a type of promotion for the destination. Finally, we presented our findigs and suggestions for further research.
