Abstract

Aldehide sem določal na štirih vzorčevalnih mestih in sicer v zaprti knjižni omari, v pisarni, na hodniku in v laboratoriju. Primerjal sem dve vrsti vzorčevalnikov in sicer komercialne in laboratorijsko pripravljene.

Secondary title: Determination of aldehydes indoors using passive samplers
Secondary abstract: In my diploma thesis, I determined aldehydes indoors at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. I determined aldehydes at four sampling locations; in the bookshelf, in the office, in the hallway, and in the laboratory. I compared two types of samplers; commercially avalible and laboratory – prepared. The commercial samplers are original tapes for UMEx 100 samplers, while the laboratory – prepared tapes are impregnated with an acidic DNPH solution which was placed into the empty UMEx sampler housing. The aldehydes were derivatized on the impregnated tapes, the derivatives were eluted and then separated. I used HPLC chromatographic technique to separate and determine the components from the samplers using the calibration line method. I calculated the concentrations of individual aldehydes at each sampling location, the relative standard deviations, and the limits of detection for each analyte and for both types of samplers. I found that the concentration of aldehydes is highest in the bookshelf and lowest in the laboratory. I also found that the both samplers had comparable limits of detection. The concentrations of individual aldehydes did not exceed the limit values in the air at any sampling location.
