Abstract

Kriteriji, ki so uporabljeni v analizi, so literarni liki, književni prostor, književni čas, snov, vrsta pripovedovalca in pomen Slovenije v delu.

Secondary title: Literary works about Slovenia in children's literature
Secondary abstract: The following master's thesis analyses 11 literary works about Slovenia. In these works, Slovenia is either a setting or an extraliterary subject matter. The first part of the thesis discusses reading literacy and its key elements, which have a massive impact on pupils' ability to understand literary works as well as their ability to follow other classes where literary works are used as teaching aids. This part of the thesis also focuses on various literary forms and genres, as well as on the criteria which we have used in our analysis. This part is succeeded by the analysis of 11 children's literary works wherein Slovenia is mentioned - be it the country's history, its cities and places or any other form of mention or connection to Slovenia's cultural or other heritage. The criteria used are as follows: literary characters, literary setting, subject matter, narrative mode and the importance of Slovenia in the literary work. Our analysis shows that all of the works, which we have evaluated, feature many Slovenian places, however, the difference between them is in the amount of information which the reader obtains about these settings. We also found that the analyzed works vary in the abundance of information on Slovenia's history, culture and other aspects. All of these works can be used as teaching aids for the intent of learning about one's surroundings and culture, and could later on also be used in history or geography classes. Due to the differential ampleness of information, however, these works may be used in various ways - some only for motivational purposes, meanwhile others as a teaching aid for learning about Slovenia and its heritage.
