Abstract

Literaturo smo iskali s pomočjo vključitvenih in izključitvenih kriterijev v podatkovnih bazah. Potek iskanja smo predstavili v PRISMA diagramu.

Secondary title: COVID-19 in children with astma
Secondary abstract: Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease caused by SARS-COV-2 virus, while asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airway, where inflammation cause narrrowing of the airway, what makes it hard to breath. Purpose of the final work is to investigate how COVID-19 affects children with asthma and whether these children are more susceptible to the disease. Methods: In the thesis, we performed systematic review, analysis and synthesis of scientific and professional literature. We searched the literature with the help of inclusion and exclusion criteria in databases. The search process was presented in the PRISMA diagram. We performed a critical assessment and analyzed and synthesized the findings using codes and categories. Results: The results show that COVID-19 has the same effect on children with asthma and other chronic diseases, as well as on children without associated diseases. There is no specificity between the morbidity of adults and children, and there is no proven difference between COVID-19 in asthmatics and in a person without an associated disease. The symptoms, course of the disease and treatment depend on the individual's immune system. When hospital treatment is required, it is treatment with oxygen supply, only intensive treatment in children is rare. Discussion and conclusion: Although there are many articles in databases related to COVID-19, there is still a lack of emphasis on how COVID-19 affects asthma in children, and research itself points out that there is a lack of research on this topic.
