magistrsko delo
Abstract
Na dokazih temelječa praksa in razširjanje raziskovalnih dejavnosti prispevata k povečanju razvoja profesionalizacije, omogočata pridobivanje novega znanja in nudita boljšo kakovost zdravstvenih storitev.

Nursing students about the evidence based practice and research in nursing |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: Modern nursing requires nursing students to expand their knowledge on the basis of the profession of nursing and medicine, which are scientific disciplines and are based on scientific evidence and strive to improve daily practice through research. Evidence based practice and the dissemination of research activities contribute to increase the development of professionalisation, enable the acquisition of new knowledge and offer better quality of health services. Purpose: The purpose of the master's thesis is to study the self-assessment of knowledge, attitudes and relationship of nursing students at the University of Ljubljana to the concept of evidence based practice and research. Methods: In the theoretical part, a descriptive method of work was used with a review of domestic and foreign professional and scientific literature. A quantitative research method was used to obtain data, with which we explained the phenomenon of students' attitudes, relationship and self-assessment of knowledge using a cross-sectional study by obtaining data through a questionnaire. The survey questionnaire was sent via the common e-mail addresses of 2nd and 3rd year students and those enrolled in an additional year in the 2019/2020 academic year. Results: 91 % of women and 9 % of men took part in the research, of which 73 % belong to the age group 21- 30. The self-assessment of undergraduate students' knowledge of nursing is statistically significantly connectivity by knowledge of a foreign language English (t=3,403; p=0,012) and the average grade of the current academic year (t=6,889; p=0,002). Opportunities to participate in research projects during education proved to be a statistically significant incentive factor (t=3,301; p=0,001). The results of the self-assessment show that students have acquired a great deal of knowledge during their education and cultivate a positive attitude towards evidence based practice and research. As many as 90 % of respondents agree that evidence based practice is the foundation of nursing and that research is important for the development of the profession. Discussion and conclusion: We find that the students' responses to the questionnaire on self-assessment of knowledge and attitudes towards evidence based practice and research were very positive. Most of the respondents believe that they gained sufficient knowledge about evidence based practice and research during the study process. The goal of the educational institution is to provide knowledge and skills for quality, safe and effective work in clinical settings. To this end, it is necessary to create opportunities for students to explore during their studies and to focus on the importance of evidence based practice. |
