Abstract

Naraščanje števila ljudi, življenskega standarda in načina življenja imata za posledico vse višjo potrošnjo.

Secondary title: Addition of waste coal and iron ore to the raw material mixture for brick production
Secondary abstract: Rising numbers of people, living standard and constantly changing way of life are resulting in rising consumption of certain products. In order to meet the needs of humanity, more and more raw materials must be prepared in advance for the production of finished products. The result is a rising shortage of basic raw materials and a larger amount of waste generated. The construction industry is one of the industries in which large amounts of waste can be recycled or reused. The trend of sustainable and economical production of fired bricks shows an increasing use of waste as a raw material for the production of bricks. As an example, organic waste is interesting for production of bricks because of the heat generation in the firing process and increased porosity of the brick shard. If waste is added in higher proportions to raw mixture, you may also influence other process parameters. Due to its high calorific value, coal and iron dust waste have a promising use as additives in the raw material mixture for bricks production, as they must be added to the raw mixture in lower proportions to meet the energy needs in the industrial furnace. As a result, we get a minimal impact on other process parameters and properties of fired brick production.
