Abstract

Secondary title: Differentiated mathematical homework
Secondary abstract: In the master's thesis, we study homework and its differentiation, where we mainly focus on the subject of mathematics. The first part is based on a literature review on homework, its characteristics and the connection with academic achievements of students. In the second part, we include differentiation and individualization in teaching and focus on the differentiation of homework in mathematics. Potential advantages and disadvantages, forms of differentiation and the results of various research by Slovenian and foreign authors, who studied the possible connection of mathematical homework with students' academic achievements, are presented. In the last part of the master's thesis, we provide examples of differentiated mathematical homework about dealing with decimal numbers in 6th grade, which teachers can use in practice. The results of research by other authors (Allen, 2008; Fan et al., 2017; Lipovec and Ferme, 2018; Manninen, 2014; Murillo and Martínez-Garrido, 2013) show that there is a positive connection between differentiating mathematical homework and students' academic achievement in mathematics.
