Abstract

Secondary title: Comparison of methods for the vine canopies reconstruction from point clouds of laser distance meter
Secondary abstract: Vine diseases such as peronospora (downy mildew) and oidium (powdery mildew) are prevented by spraying fungicides on the vine leaves. In order to be able to apply fungicides to the vine leaves in the most efficient and economical way, we need to know the shape and volume of the vine canopy and the number of leaves. This can be done in several ways, using LIDAR measuring equipment, or by capturing images from different positions using a drone - photogrammetry, and by physically counting the number of leaves in a given section. All methods approach canopy reconstruction in a different way. We compared the results of different methods with each other and found that the method of manual counting is suitable for smaller measured sections of the vine canopy. In the case of larger measured sections, photogrammetry and LIDAR methods are more suitable for capturing data on canopy shape, leaf mass and canopy volume
