Abstract

V nadaljevanju smo s teoretičnega vidika prikazali gozd, drevesa in gozdne živali.

Secondary title: Comparison between the forest and kindergarten playground as a structured nature study environment
Secondary abstract: The present thesis aims to present our findings on the significant differences between certain behaviours of children in a structured space of an enclosed kindergarten playground and those in in a forest with freely accessible materials. The theoretical part begins by examining the play of a pre-school child and the field of nature within the framework a kindergarten curriculum. It presents in more detail the essence and objectives of experiential and forest pedagogy as well as the open learning environment and its impacts. It also examines a forest, trees and forest animals from a theoretical point of view. The theoretical part concludes with an exploration of the field of experiential learning and presents the results of recent research on the use of a forest as an open learning environment. The empirical part examines the method of obtaining the results and the results of the survey itself. A non-randomised research sample from a specific population of 20 children aged between four and six years was used in the survey. The survey was conducted on the basis of planned activities carried out with two groups of children in two different learning environments. Our observations related to children's participation, behaviour and thinking were recorded using evaluation sheets. Based on the results obtained, it was established that forest activities with freely accessible materials have a more positive effect on children in comparison with activities taking place in a kindergarten playground. When involved in various forest activities, children are more cooperative, communicative, creative and besides, they show more joy, motivation and enthusiasm. Our study revealed that forest activities also have a positive impact on the development of children's imagination.
