Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo predstavili pomen prepoznavanja in lajšanja bolečin pri travmatoloških pacientih. Prikazali smo različne metode merjenja, ocenjevanja, prepoznavanja in lajšanja bolečin, s katerimi medicinske sestre lažje in učinkovitejše prepoznajo in lajšajo bolečino pri pacientih.

Secondary title: Identifying and allevianting pain in traumatic patients
Secondary abstract: In the thesis we have presented the importance of identifying and relieving the pain of traumatic patient. We have shown different methods of measurement, assessment, diagnosis and reducing the pain. Nurses can easily and effectively identify and relieve pain with the presented methods. We have pointed out the importance of communication between nurses and patients. In the thesis we have presented the results of survey which was carried out among 30 hospitalized patients at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana Casualty Surgery Clinic in April 2011. The questionnaire was anonymous. We wanted to find out if the rate of traumatic pain in patients before the surgery is higher than 3 measured by VAS, when the pain is intense and whether the patients are informed about the methods of assessment and the pain management. We have found that the pain is higher than 3 by VAS at more than 50 % of patients. The pain is more expressive during the morning physical activities and at physical therapy. The patients are insufficiently informed about the methods of assessment and pain management.
