Abstract

The effect of the online workshop series »a (se) štekaš?!?« (lit. »d'ya get it (yourself)?!?) on adolescents' mental health during middle adolescence |
Secondary abstract: |
The COVID-19 epidemic had a major impact on the mental health of adolescents, who represented one of the groups at risk during this period. The measures aimed at curbing the epidemic prevented the adolescents to meet their needs for socialization and independence. The rapidly changing measures have resulted in deterioration of adolescents' mental health and an increase in mental disorders. "A (se) štekaš?!?" (lit. "D'ya get it (yourself)?!?") is a project of universal prevention aimed at strengthening mental health and preventing suicidal behaviour in adolescents. The effects of the project have already been proven beneficial in live implementation. At the time of the epidemic, a series of workshops has been conducted online for the purpose of this research paper, with the goal of exploring whether implementation of online workshops will have similar results to the aforementioned in-person workshop. The main purpose of this thesis paper was to examine whether there are any statistically significant differences between groups and gender, by juxtaposing the control group and the experimental group. The results of the research show that online workshops also have a significant impact on improving mental health by reducing suicidal ideation and the symptoms of depression and anxiety. |
