Abstract

Secondary title: Optimization of 5-axis CNC machine technology in the processing of a wooden dining furniture
Secondary abstract: In this work, the CNC technique was optimized for the production of a seat segment. The optimization included the selection of the optimal tool and suitable 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining technologies. Machining time, machining quality and tool wear were optimized. SolidCAM software was used to program the possible machining operations for our product, display them in simulations, and later execute them on a 5-axis CNC machine. The basis for the optimization was 3-axis milling with a simple ball cutter, which was then extended to 4- and 5-axis milling. The different milling technologies available in SolidCAM were compared. The optimization process also led to the design of a new, more suitable tool. The final result of the optimization was a reduction in machining time of 11 minutes, while improving machining quality and reducing tool wear.
