Abstract

Secondary title: The use of information and communication technology in higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic
Secondary abstract: Throughout its history, higher education has experienced various transformations that have shaped it into what we know today. Despite all the obstacles overcome, in mid-March 2020 we witnessed an unprecedented challenge. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, information and communication technology (ICT) has become the center of everything, and higher education is no exception, where teaching and learning have migrated to online platforms overnight. As is already widely known, the pandemic also brought greater challenges, such as accepting and facing a new way of working (teaching) and studying, which are primarily related to the attitude of users (students and professors) towards ICT in higher education. For this purpose, I decided to further research this topic in my master's thesis and conduct interviews with students and professors of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Ultimately, experts in the field of higher education predict that ICT in education will cause fundamental changes and many universities will be forced to think about big decisions that will affect the next generations who will be educated.
