Abstract

V zadnjem desetletju v ospredje zanimanja raziskovalcev s področja računalniške vizualizacije stopa tehnologija navidezne resničnosti, ki omogoča nov način predstavitve geoprostorskih podatkov. Upodabljanje navideznih okolij s stopnjo podrobnosti, ki bo za uporabnika prepričljiva, se kot poseben izziv izkaže pri upodabljanju v spletnem brskalniku. V magistrski nalogi predlagamo novo metodo rekonstrukcije pokrajine, ki na podlagi javno dostopnih geoprostorskih podatkov v realnem času vizualizira poljubno izbrano slovensko pokrajino. Vizualizacija slovenske pokrajine v spletni aplikaciji navidezne resničnosti uporabniku omogoča prvoosebno raziskovanje okolja in opazovanje njegovih elementov iz poljubnih gledišč, kar posnema opazovanje okolja v resničnem svetu.

Secondary title: Landscape reconstruction for web-based virtual reality
Secondary abstract: In the past decade, virtual reality has become one of the main focuses in the field of computer visualization, enabling new ways of presenting geospatial data. Rendering virtual environments with a level of detail convincing to the user is especially challenging when rendering in a web browser. In the thesis a new method of landscape reconstruction is proposed, which uses publicly available geospatial data to visualize any selected Slovenian landscape in real time. Visualization of Slovenian landscapes in web-based virtual reality applications allows the user to explore the environment from the first-person perspective and observe its elements from different angles as though they were observing a real environment.
