magistrsko delo
Abstract

Roles and tasks of nursery in working with children from dysfunctional family – case studies |
Secondary abstract: |
In addition to the family's recognition of the child's needs, it is also essential for the child's good social development that the needs and possible disadvantages of the child are recognised in kindergarten. When the conditions for development in the family are too weak, the kindergarten as an institution can at least partially balance the child's development. For the purpose of this thesis, we used a qualitative research method to investigate the characteristics of a child from a less functional family, how disadvantage is reflected in the child's functioning in the kindergarten group and what methods and ways of working the teacher uses to help the child overcome his/her deficits. Based on the examination of the data from the kindergarten files on the three children from less functional families studied and the data obtained from the interviews with the teachers who have children from less functional families in the kindergarten, we found that children from less supportive families have various deficits which are shown mainly in the form of deviations in speech-language development and social skills, and their intellectual abilities lag behind those of their peers. Kindergarten teachers try to help children with their deficits in a variety of ways, in particular by adapting activities to make them more manageable and successful. They also try to integrate children with deficits as much as possible into their peers' society, make didactic tools especially for them to learn words, and make sure that the child is always close to them. |
