Abstract

Secondary title: Fine arts and poetry - connecting the arts in teaching
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis Fine art and poetry - connecting art in teaching consists of two parts: a theoretical part and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, we studied the examples of artists who worked in the field of fine arts who were inspired by poetry and also poets who were inspired by a work of art to be able to transfer their thoughts into poetry. We also presented the purpose of cross-curricular integration between poetry and fine arts and gave different opinions of theorists about cross-curricular integration in schools and in teaching for students. In the practical part, we will focus on the curriculum for art classes and the Croatian language from the point of view of planning cross-curricular connections, and through a case study we want to find out and investigate how we can cross-curricularly connect art and poetry in the Croatian language course, namely by placing poetry in art lessons. We investigated the response of students to cross-curricular lessons and also how they evaluate them. The purpose of the case study is to check how the students accept and connect poetry in the art lesson and to enrich the cross-curricular connection when poetry from the Croatian language is accepted in two classes in an elementary school.
