Abstract

Secondary title: OPPORTUNITIES FOR FORMING LEARNERS' ATTITUDE TOWARDS NATURE DURING THE LESSONS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Secondary abstract: In the diploma paper, titled Opportunities for Forming Learners' Attitude towards Nature during the Lessons in Elementary School, there is a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part presents the fundamental problems of the present state of the environment around the world as well as in Slovenia, and the effects that pollution has on people's health, especially children. In addition, it also presents the project called Eco-school, as a EU project and project called Eco-school, the way of living, as a Slovene project, which includes stimulating environmental awareness and education with young children as a part of the educational system. In the empirical part of diploma paper, we investigated the learners' attitude towards nature. We assessed their attitude towards nature with the help of a questionnaire and we covered the following spheres: knowledge and proficiency in ecology, playing in nature, recreation in nature, executing the compulsory labour service in nature, confrontation with the dangers of nature, and executing activities which develop aesthetic attitude towards nature. The results of our investigation have shown that learners, who were interviewed, know a great deal about ecology, seeing that they spend a lot of time in nature and in such manner develop a positive attitude towards it. This is above all indicated by the fact that 91 % of interviewed learners take part in cleaning activities in the school area.
