Abstract

Digitalne tehnologije prinašajo mnogo prednosti, z njihovim hitrim vzponom pa naraščajo tudi nekateri izzivi, ki jih te prinašajo. Veliko mladih svoje popoldneve preživi ob računalnikih ali mobilnih napravah, kjer igrajo računalniške igrice, si dopisujejo s prijatelji preko družbenih medijev ali gledajo video vsebine preko interneta. Cilj diplomskega dela je ugotoviti, kako uporaba digitalnih tehnologij vpliva na učni uspeh osnovnošolcev iz Slovenije. Naloga temelji na pregledani literaturi ter izvedenih anketah na desetih slovenskih osnovnih šolah. V empiričnem delu je bilo s pomočjo multipla linearne regresijske analize dokazano, da ima digitalna tehnologija negativen vpliv na učni uspeh slovenskih osnovnošolcev. Tisti osnovnošolci, ki več svojega časa posvetijo digitalnim tehnologijam, pa imajo v povprečju nižji učni uspeh kot tisti, ki digitalnim tehnologijam posvetijo manj časa. Prav tako se je izkazalo, da ima igranje računalniških iger bolj negativen vpliv na učni uspeh slovenskih osnovnošolcev kot uporaba družbenih medijev. V zaključku naloge so predstavljena moja razmišljanja ter možnosti nadaljnjega raziskovanja na tem področju.

Secondary title: Digital technologies and the academic success of elementary school students from Slovenia
Secondary abstract: Digital technologies come with many advantages, but with their rapid expansion, the challenges that come with them are also expanding. A lot of young individuals are spending their afternoons using computers or mobile devices to play video games, chat with friends over social media or watch videos using the internet. The goal of my diploma thesis is to research whether the usage of digital technologies corelates with the academic success of primary school students from Slovenia. In the empirical part of my thesis, multiple linear regression analysis proved that the digital technology has negative impact on the academic success of Slovenian elementary school students. The students that spent more time using digital technologies had lower average academic success than those who spent less time using them. It was also proven that playing video games had more negative effect on academic success than the usage of social medias. In the final part of my thesis, I will present my thoughts about the possibilities of further research on this topic.
