Abstract

Secondary title: Autonomy in public and private high schools
Secondary abstract: Autonomy has taken many forms, and can operate in many different ways. But when we talk about school autonomy we should consider that school autonomy should become the school concept. If the school does not have the autonomy than the school process can be hinder. But the school autonomy is more or less dependent on the teacher's and student's autonomy. These three autonomies are inseparable connected. The adjustable system defines the school objectives which teachers and students have to achieve for better educational process but at the same time they can freely include their knowledge and professional qualifications for making this system more attractive and personal. The teachers and students from public and private high schools were cooperating in my empirical research. The research questions were about teacher's school autonomy at different subjects and about student's autonomy; where can we find it and how can it be used. The empirical research results show that many teachers feel professional qualified and autonomous while students would like to have more autonomy.
