diplomsko delo
Abstract
Danes je stik z naravo in primarna izkušnja marsikateremu otroku onemogočena. Ker otroci prva leta veliko časa preživijo v vrtcu, so vzgojitelji tisti, ki morajo otrokom približati naravo in jim omogočiti prijetne aktivnosti v njej. V praktičnem delu smo načrtovali izvedbo igre Zakrita steza skozi tri letne čase pomladi, poleti in jeseni. Igro smo izvajali v bližnjem gozdu, z otroki skupine Pikapolonice (4-5 let). Igro smo analizirali s pomočjo vnaprej pripravljenih opazovalnih listov.

Developing observation skills of preschool children with the help of games innature |
| Secondary abstract: |
Nowadays, many children don't get a chance to be close to nature and enjoy primary experiences. Since many children spend a lot of time in kindergarten during their early years, it is up to their teachers to introduce them to nature and allow them to experience pleasant outdoor activities.
My diploma thesis was focused on experiential education, observation, and children's concentration. Using expert literature, we analysed and described experiential education, its purpose, objectives, and principles. We went on to write about the development of children's observation skills and the work of Joseph Cornell, the author of the Hidden Path game, which is the focal point of this diploma thesis.
For the practical part of the thesis, we planned the Hidden Path game in three seasons: spring, summer, and autumn. We carried out the game in a nearby forest with children aged four and five. We analysed the game using observation sheets we'd prepared beforehand.
During the course of this thesis, it became clear that the planned activities helped children acquire new experiences in natural science. The children got acquainted with the Hidden Path science game, which helped them develop their observation skills and improved their concentration. Our analysis revealed that the children enjoyed these activities; they were relaxed and displayed positive emotions. Kindergarten teachers are often not acquainted with this method, which is why we would like to see more of such planned activities in the future. |
