Secondary abstract: | Diploma thesis titled The Impact of Reading Children's Books on Preschooler's Vocabulary Acquisition in the second age period addresses the influence of reading children's books and educator's storytelling on the development and expanding of child's vocabulary. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, our focus is aimed at the meaning of speech and speech development as well as the meaning of narrative. One chapter of the thesis is centered on the development of narrative, as the thesis relates to narrative. Children's imagination is included as well. The results and data of our research are presented in the empirical part. The research helped us look into range of children's vocabulary level. The purpose of our research was to influence children's vocabulary expansion by including educators who have read children's books to children in the second age group over a constant period six-month period. Over our testing in May, children were given the task of making up their own story in any given sequence by being presented with two separate illustrations. |
