diplomsko delo
Abstract
Zaradi neuravnotežene dinamike spreminjanja družbenih vlog moških in žensk prihaja do dvojne obremenjenosti žensk, zato smo podrobneje raziskali dve možni rešitvi razbremenitve: plačano, najeto pomoč in aktivnejše očetovanje.

Some sociological aspects of unpaid and unvisible work of women in the family |
Secondary abstract: |
Reproductive work has long been tightly connected with the sexual identity of women. Reproductive work is not a form of formal work but is a private, unpaid, consumable work and is considered to be a "labour of love". The perception of reproductive work thus results in the "invisibility" of such work and in the "invisibility" of the double burdening of women: on the one hand, the area of the paid sphere of work and on the other the unpaid housework. Our goal is to research and examine in detail the conceptualisation and the content of reproductive work. The thesis focuses on the sharing of housework and care work between the genders. With the historical aspect of sharing work between the genders the thesis researches how housework is valued in society. While for men family and home represent a space for individual self-realisation, for women, on the other hand, it represents a permanent obligation, duty and the pains of the repetitive everyday life. Women today are highly educated, hold in higher positions of employment but are despite that subject to professional segregation and lower salaries for performing the same work as men. And at home, the sharing of most of family work is far from being egalitarian. Due to unbalanced dynamics of the change of men and women's social roles the problem of double burdening of women arises, so the thesis researches two possible solutions for unburdening: paid hired help and a more active role of fathers. We examined in detail what the advantages and disadvantages of the regulation of paid housework are and the possible solutions that could overcome the problems of hired, paid help from the field of gray economy. |
