Abstract

Reklamni slogani so bistven sestavni del vsakega oglasa. Njihov osnovni namen je pritegniti pozornost kupca, da bi kupil določeni izdelek. V diplomskem delu primerjam reklamne slogane v slovenskem in angleškem jeziku, ki jih uporabljajo tako slovenska kot tudi tuja podjetja. Večino teh sloganov sem našla na uradnih spletnih straneh posameznih podjetij, nekatere v oglasih na televiziji in različnih časopisih, revijah ali drugem reklamnem materialu. Poglobila sem se v zgodovino posameznih podjetij, navedla slogane posameznih podjetij, interpretirala pomen posameznih sloganov in vse to strnila v obliki preglednice. Primerjava sloganov v obeh jezikih obsega primerjave glasoslovnih prvin, kot sta rima in aliteracija, besedišča in stavčnih struktur. V diplomskem delu sem želela izpostaviti razlike in podobnosti rabe reklamnih sloganov v obeh jezikih. Na vpadljivost, edinstvenost in prepoznavnost teh kratkih, a udarnih fraz oziroma stavkov, pa vplivajo lastnosti, kot so oblika, besedišče in druge pomembne lastnosti.

Secondary abstract: Advertising slogans are a crucial element of every advertisement. They have to draw the attention of customers to a certain product and persuade them to buy this same product. I decided to compare Slovene and English advertising slogans, used by Slovene as well as by foreign companies. I found most slogans on homepages of different companies, others either in television commercials and magazines or other advertising material. I made a list of companies which advertise their products on the Slovene market. The list includes a brief insight into the history of a company, the slogans that a company uses and an interpretation of the slogan. The contrastive comparison of English and Slovene slogans includes the comparison of phonological features such as rhyme and alliteration, comparison of the vocabulary and the types of sentences. The purpose of this diploma paper was to point out the differences and similarities in the use of the main features of advertising slogans in both languages. The form of a slogan, the words used in a slogan and other important features of a slogan make this short phrase or sentence eye-catching, memorable and unique.
