Abstract

Secondary title: LISTENING TO CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE KINDERGARTEN
Secondary abstract: The aim of the thesis titled Listening to classical music in the kindergarten, is to find out how freqently this kind of music is used in pre-school period. In theoretical part there is a presentation of listening to music in general, planning of music activities, listening to vocal and instrumental music, how we prepare children to such activities, then there is a presentation of the period of classicism and some composers in that time. The empirical part is about the results of the questionnaire which was used to find out about the frequency of using classical music. The results show that classical music is more frequently used than we expected, which is good. Besides that, this is the most frequently used music for children. This part also shows the most frequent composers and their music. It is important that we are aware of positive and negative effects of different kinds of music used with the children. If classical music has positive effects on children, some other kinds of music can be very aggressive. Classical music encourages imagination, creativity, sense of aesthetics etc.
