Abstract

Poklicno in zasebno življenje predstavljata večinski del posameznikovega življenja.

Secondary title: Checking the existence between professional and private life while working from home
Secondary abstract: Professional and private life constitute a significant portion of an individual's existence. Balancing these two aspects and establishing a boundary between them can present challenges for each person. As remote work began to take root in Slovenia, the realms of professional and private life started intertwining, leading to both facilitations and complications. Individuals grappled with harmonizing work tasks and personal commitments within the same environment, including leisure time, family responsibilities, and other obligations. This study aimed to present the theoretical foundations of these two major domains - professional and private life - along with work life balance. Through a critical review of secondary literature sources, the initial theoretical framework was established. Subsequently, a questionnaire was employed to gather data for analysis and further exploration.Through statistical analyses, six predefined hypotheses and three research questions were examined. The study's findings revealed that individuals perceive a boundary between their professional and private lives. Several factors influence the establishment of this boundary, one of which is remote work. While working remotely, people tend to clock fewer hours than in a traditional office setting. Nevertheless, they perceive a higher level of tranquility and fewer distractions when working from home. Defining the boundary remains a challenge, as it arises from the subjective comprehension of each individual. The personality of the person plays an important role in this process, in conjunction with the organizational culture and its adaptability.
