Abstract

Secondary title: Requirements for the introduction of parcel deliveries using drones in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: Today, logistics companies are not only looking for solutions that reduce delivery costs, but also for solutions that make delivery faster, safer and, above all, more environmentally friendly. This is especially true in the last mile of delivery, where costs and environmental pollution are high and it is also the most time-consuming part of transport. One possible solution are drones, which have been used mainly for military, humanitarian and construction purposes, but are now being extended to logistics and transport. Drones provide an alternative solution for the delivery of medical devices and samples, the delivery of smaller and lighter parcels, assistance in the supply of ships, and in some countries for the delivery of food. In our thesis, we evaluated the applicability of drones in last-mile parcel delivery, investigated and described the conditions for high-quality parcel delivery, and assessed the feasibility of implementing this technology in the Slovenian environment.
