diplomsko delo

Abstract

Rezultati so zelo zanimivi in nepredvidljivi.

Secondary title: THE USE AND EFFECTIVENESS OF EXERCISES FOR BETTER AND MORE EFFECTIVE READING IN THE 3RD GRADE
Secondary abstract: Reading is an inevitable part of our every-day lives and represents a tool for gaining knowledge. But it is only effective when the pupils understand what he or she has read. The motivation of pupils and the approach towards the reading material is very important. One way of achieving this is reading strategy which enables the pupil better recognition of key information from the text and help with remembering what has been read. Exercises for better and faster reading which Sonja Pečjak presents in her book How to achieve better reading have also proven to be very effective. The purpose of this diploma work is to check how exercises for better and faster reading are used with pupils of the third class from the 9-year primary school. The experiment of reading comprehension was tested twice in two classes the experiment class and the control class. The pupils of both classes did not use these methods and exercises in the past. After the first assessment I used fast and improvement reading techniques in an experiment class for three months, while the teacher in the control class was not even familiar with these techniques. After three months we went over the same text again and the same questions were asked in the assessment. The results proved very interesting and unpredictable.
