Abstract

Secondary title: Development of a control system for an iontronic pump
Secondary abstract: Cancer has been a big health issue since the birth of human civilization. It is currently a leading death cause, causing almost one in six deaths worldwide. In recent decades, countless revolutionary treatment methods arose, giving way to opportunities to combine different areas of medicine, science, and engineering. One of these methods is a treatment delivery system, based on a concept of an iontronic pump. The goal of this work is to develop a system capable of controlling these pumps. Here, we describe the development process of a device that sets, measures, and controls the voltage on a simulated iontronic pump, and a desktop control software which provides an interface between the user and the device.
