Abstract

Secondary abstract: There are two types of sheep barns: the insulated barn and the open-air barn, the main difference being that in an open-air barn at least one side is open. The choice between these two types of barns depends on the location where the barn is to be built. However, it should be noted that an insulated barn is more weather resistant and the microclimate in the barn can be better controlled than an open-air barn. The latter requires more effort, especially in regulating temperature and humidity inside the barn, which are affected by factors such as sunlight, heat, wind and rain. To ensure animal welfare and better breeding results, high-quality materials should be used for the floor, walls, ceiling, and roof of the barn when building barns. From the design stage of barn construction, it's important to ensure that all of these elements are suitable for the barn and its intended use, while also considering their future maintenance. When designing and planning the barn, the legal regulations for barn construction must be observed. In addition, professional guidelines for temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting, water supply and feeding of the animals must be taken into account. An important part of the sheep barn is also the milking area and the milk storage room, which must be designed according to the working method.
