Abstract

Secondary abstract: Following EU membership, Slovenia became an attractive destination for different groups of immigrants. The majority are still from the former Yugoslav republics, but there is an ever increasing number from other European and non-European countries. Those with families often bring their children with them, who then start to attend nurseries and schools, where they begin to learn Slovene.
