Abstract

Gastronomski turizem je eden od najbolj dinamičnih segmentov v turistični industriji, ki ga vsaka država in regija lahko izkoristiti kot močno orodje za privabljanje turistov ter promocijo svoje kulture in tradicije. Znano je, da ima hrana močno povezavo s kulturo in z identiteto naroda, gastronomija pa predstavlja vrata v kulturo in način življenja ljudi. Ohrid, kot ena izmed najbolj prepoznavnih turističnih destinacij v regiji, ne izstopa samo po svojih naravnih in zgodovinskih bogastvih, temveč tudi po svoji bogati gastronomski ponudbi. Ta mesto s svojimi mnogimi restavracijami in kavarnami ponuja obiskovalcem avtentične okuse tradicionalne makedonske kuhinje, pa tudi številne druge svetovne kuhinje. V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali pomen in potencial gastronomskega turizma na Ohridu. Cilj raziskave je bil preučiti trenutno gastronomsko ponudbo v regiji, identificirati najbolj znane in iskane tradicionalne jedi ter najti možnosti za izboljšanje in razvoj. Prav tako so analizirane izkušnje ponudnikov gastronomskih storitev v povezavi s turizmom in podani predlogi za izboljšanje gastronomskega turizma na Ohridu.

Secondary abstract: Gastronomic tourism represents one of the most dynamic segments in the tourism industry, which every country and region has the opportunity to utilize as a powerful tool for attracting tourists and promoting their culture and traditions. It is well-known that food has a strong connection to the culture and identity of a nation, and gastronomy serves as the most authentic gateway into the culture and way of life of its people. Ohrid, as one of the most recognizable tourist destinations in the region, stands out not only for its natural and historical treasures but also for its rich gastronomic offerings. This city, with its numerous restaurants and cafes, offers its visitors authentic tastes of traditional Macedonian cuisine as well as various other world cuisines. This thesis explores the significance and potential of gastronomic tourism in Ohrid. The research aims to examine the current gastronomic offerings in the region, identify the most renowned and sought-after traditional dishes, and find opportunities for their improvement and development. Furthermore, the experiences of gastronomic service providers in relation to tourism are analyzed, and recommendations are provided for enhancing gastronomic tourism in Ohrid.
