Abstract

V našem magistrskem delu smo raziskovali bralni interes in bralno motivacijo učencev 3., 4. in 5. razreda v Posavju.

Secondary abstract: In our master thesis, we researched reading interest and reading motivation of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade pupils in Posavje. This research aimed to get a better understanding of pupil's reading habits; how motivated are they to read, what they like to read in their free time, how often they read and what genres and books are the most popular. We also compared how reading motivation and reading interest differ among boys and girls. We surveyed 3rd, 4th and 5th grade pupils in three primary schools in Posavje. We presented our results with tables and graphs and we interpreted them. Research shows that students are most motivated to read by their own reading pleasure. Interesting book title is the most important aspect when picking up what book to read. Most students read 1-3 times a week. Pupils' favourite book genre is adventure and the most popular book is Pasji mož. We also found out that girls have a higher reading motivation and reading interest than boys. Based on the results of our research and on the literature, we made a list of recommendations on how to motivate pupils to read and to have a higher reading interest.
