magistrsko delo
Abstract
Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo dela. Pregledali smo domačo in tujo literaturo, nato pa z anketnimi vprašalniki pridobili želene informacije. V raziskavi so sodelovali poklicni gasilci dveh enot in reševalci petih enot Gorenjske.

Work-Life balance of emergency employees in Gorenjska |
Secondary abstract: |
The master's thesis focuses on the coordination of work-life balance of emergency employees. Due to the fast pace of life, this is increasingly a challenge for every active individual. Due to the specifics of their work and schedule, employees in emergency services may have a few more problems. We researched how firefighters and emergency rescuers in Gorenjska face the coordination of work-life balance, and the conflicts between the two spheres. We were interested in whether employees face a time-based and/or strain-based and/or behavioral-based conflict; whether the number of children, length of service and position affect it.
We used a descriptive method of work. We reviewed the domestic and foreign literature, and then obtained the desired information with questionnaires. Professional firefighters from two units and emergency rescuers from five units of Gorenjska participated in the research. Our sample consisted of 122 individuals who were evenly distributed according to workplace. The results showed that time-based, strain-based and behavioral-based conflict were not strongly expressed among the respondents. The number of children among the respondents also does not affect the coordination of work-life balance. We also did not detect statistically significant differences in terms of length of service, but there were differences in terms of employees' position. Namely, according to the firefighters in Gorenjska region, the coordination of professional and private life is somewhat better than according to the emergency rescuers.
The results were quite expected, but for further research we would recommend some improvements, namely surveying partners of employees, expanding the sample to other regions, deepening certain claims (number of interventions, call-ups, overtime, help from grandparents, etc.), which would provide a clearer insight into the information obtained. |
