Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo predstavili uporabo slikanice pri snovanju matematičnih dejavnosti za razvijanje matematičnega znanja pri predšolskih otrocih. Najprej smo se v teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela osredotočili na področje matematike v predšolskem obdobju in na uporabo slikanic v predšolskem obdobju, predvsem v povezavi z matematičnim področjem. V praktičnem delu diplomskega dela smo najprej predstavili matematične dejavnosti, ki smo jih zasnovali na slikanici Kakaduji. Dejavnosti smo izvedli v Vrtcu Pobrežje, v enoti Čebelica. Naše vodilo je bilo otrokom skozi kontekst slikanice predstaviti matematične dejavnosti, ki bi jih pritegnile in s katerimi bi lahko razvijali matematično znanje. Naša opažanja smo med izvajanjem dejavnosti beležili s pomočjo opazovalnih listov. Analiza izvedbe matematičnih dejavnosti je pokazala, da je slikanica Kakaduji pri otrocih pritegnila in vzbudila interes za matematične dejavnosti. Kljub nekaj izzivom med matematičnimi dejavnostmi, so otroci ostali motivirani in so zavzeto sodelovali pri matematičnih dejavnostih, osnovanih na slikanici Kakaduji. Otroci so bili uspešni pri večini pripravljenih matematičnih dejavnosti, obenem pa smo ugotovili tudi, da so matematične dejavnosti spodbudile uporabo matematičnega jezika med otroki.

Secondary title: Using the Cockatoos picture book to develop mathematical knowledge in preschool
Secondary abstract: In the thesis we presented the use of picture books in the design of mathematical activities, for the development of mathematical knowledge, in preschool children. In the theoretical part of the thesis, we focused on the on the field of mathematics in the preschool period, on the use of picture books in the preschool period, especially in connection to the field of mathematics. In the practical part of the thesis, we first introduced the mathematical activities, which we based on the picture book Cockatoos. The activities were carried out in Kindergarten Pobrežje, unit Čebelica. Through the context of the picture book, our guiding principle was to present the children with mathematical activities that would attract them and with which they would develop their mathematical knowledge. We recorded our observations with the help of observation sheets throughout the implementation of the activities. The analysis of the records showed that the picture book Cockatoos did in fact attract the children and cause interest in mathematical activities in the children. Despite a few challenges during the mathematical activities, the children remained focused and actively participated in the mathematical activities based on the picture book Kakaduji. The children were successful in most of the prepared mathematical activities, and we have also found that mathematical activities prompted the use of mathematical language among the children.
