Secondary abstract: This thesis deals with location services found on numerous mobile devices, since nowadays there are more mobile phones on this planet than humans. At first it defines the historic view on multiple technologies, how did those technologies merge into one system and use of those systems in real world today. There is also overview of most popular location based services used today. Technicaly it gives a bright overview over technologies and methods used for positioning. It ends with a technical demonstrator on how to implement location services for Windows Phone using Ljubljana's public transport system as a use case.
