Abstract

V zaključnem delu smo raziskovali strategije in tehnike za spoprijemanje s tesnobo ter njen vpliv na športnikovo delovanje v izbrani disciplini športa. Ugotavljali smo, kako tesnoba in stres vplivata na fizično in mentalno zdravje športnikov, ki so vsakodnevno izpostavljeni visokim stresnim obremenitvam, tako v športu kot v samem življenju. Namen diplomskega dela je bil raziskati in pojasniti strategije in tehnike, ki lahko pozitivno pomagajo športnikom v boju proti tesnobi. Prav tako smo želeli, da športniki preberejo to delo ter izberejo ustrezne strategije in tehnike za obvladovanje tesnobe ter se zavedajo posledic neukrepanja ob zaznanih znakih tesnobe oziroma stresa. Za preverjanje poznavanja teh strategij med športniki smo oblikovali spletni anketni vprašalnik, s katerim smo preverili, katere strategije in tehnike za premagovanje tesnobe športniki najpogosteje uporabljajo in kakšni so njihovi učinki. Športniki so se med svojim športnim udejstvovanjem že srečali s tesnobo, čustveno stisko ali nervozo. Prišli smo tudi do potrditve, da tesnoba negativno vpliva na duševno počutje športnikov, posledično pa tudi na njihovo športno izvedbo oziroma uspešnost. Strategije za spoprijemanje s tesnobo imajo pomembno vlogo pri tem, da športnika spodbudijo k aktivnemu soočanju s težavami in izzivi, ki mu stojijo naproti.

Secondary title: The presence of anxiety and coping with anxiety in athletes
Secondary abstract: The thesis investigated strategies and techniques for coping with anxiety and its impact on athletes' performance in their chosen sport discipline. We examined how anxiety, as well as stress, affect the physical and mental health of athletes who are exposed to high levels of stress on a daily basis, both in sports and in their personal lives. The purpose of our thesis was to explore and explain strategies and techniques that can positively assist athletes in combating anxiety. Additionally, we aimed for athletes to read this work and choose appropriate strategies and techniques for managing anxiety, as well as to understand the consequences of failing to act when signs of anxiety or stress are present. To assess the knowledge of these strategies among athletes, we developed an online survey questionnaire to determine which strategies and techniques athletes most frequently use to cope with anxiety and their effects. Athletes have already encountered anxiety, emotional distress, or nervousness during their sports activities. We also confirmed that anxiety negatively impacts athletes' mental well-being and, consequently, their sports performance or success. Strategies for coping with anxiety play an important role in encouraging athletes to actively face the problems and challenges they encounter.
