Abstract

Secondary title: Digital media literacy of deaf and hard of hearing people in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis focuses on the study of digital media literacy among deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Slovenia. The aim of the research was to determine the impact of sociodemographic factors on the usage of digital media and digital media literacy. We were also interested in the impact of digital media literacy on the use of digital media. The results of the thesis provide important insights, especially for professionals and researchers working on the integration of deaf and hard of hearing people into the digital environment or society. The results were obtained using a data collection method via group interviews, which showed that deaf and hard of hearing people most frequently turn to Facebook, though the reasons and methods of use vary, similar to other digital media. Based on the results, we conclude that none of the sociodemographic factors define the use of digital media and the level of digital media literacy. However, there is a connection between digital media literacy and the use of digital media.
