Abstract

V ospredje smo postavili sociometrični status nadarjenih učencev in učencev s posebnimi potrebami.

Secondary title: A case study of peer relations in elementary school
Secondary abstract: In the master's thesis A Case Study of Peer Relations in Elementary School we first provide theoretical background of the topic. Throughout life, people are a part of various groups in which, through communication and interaction, relationships are established, to meet our needs. Positive relationships at school form a foundation for the lives of both students and teachers. The relationship between teachers and students, which is based on challenges and collaboration, has been studied by researchers for over 20 years. They have discovered that respect, a safe and well-balanced learning environment, and open communication are crucial for establishing quality vertical relationships. These relationships are essential for the holistic development of students. Peer relationships are also significant at school, as friendships can develop among individuals, influencing self-respect and behavior. Peer bullying, which is present in modern schools, has a potentially negative impact on individuals. A sociometric test, which provides an insight into the social dynamics of the classrooms, is also presented in the theoretical part. With the help of the sociometric test, we have established sociomatograms and sociograms for three different interactions - pair work, socializing during school breaks, and socializing outside school -for all classes at the selected elementary school. For each student, we have calculated a sociometric status and categorized them as popular, rejected, neglected, controversial, or average. We have put the sociometric status of gifted students and students with special needs in the foreground.
