Abstract

Teoretična izhodišča: Astma je kronično obolenje dihal, za katerega je značilno kronično vnetje dihalnih poti. Bolniki, ki so pravilno zdravljeni, nimajo težav, so fizično zmogljivi, nimajo hudih poslabšanj astme, njihova pljučna funkcija pa je v mejah normale. Pri obravnavi astmatika imajo medicinske sestre nepogrešljivo vlogo. Namen je bil proučiti, kakšna je vloga medicinske sestre pri izvajanju zdravstvene vzgoje astmatika. Metode: Raziskava je temeljila na kvantitativnem raziskovalnem pristopu in deskriptivni metodi dela. Za zbiranje podatkov je bil uporabljen strukturiran anketni vprašalnik. Vzorec je bil priložnostni, sodelovale so diplomirane medicinske sestre. Pridobljeni sta bili 102 izpolnjeni anketi. Za teoretični del smo uporabili primarne in sekundarne vire podatkov. Rezultati: Na osnovi odgovorov anketirank smo ugotovili, da ima medicinska sestra pomembno vlogo pri zdravstveni vzgoji astmatika. 52 % anketiranih medicinskih sester je v času izobraževanja dobilo premalo informacij o zdravstveni vzgoji astmatika, 31 % jih zna pravilno izvesti spirometrijo in enako število tudi meritev PEF. V času izobraževanja so pridobile premalo informacij, kako ukrepati v primeru astmatičnega napada, saj so uporabo bronhodilatatorja uvrstile na deveto mesto od dvanajstih, kar pomeni, da bi le 38 % medicinskih sester v primeru napada apliciralo bronhodilatator. Medicinske sestre bi morale večkrat in bolj podrobno preverjati bolnikovo znanje o pravilni uporabi terapije. Razprava: Za medicinsko sestro je pomembno, da ima dovolj znanja o astmi in obravnavi astmatika, saj kot je razvidno iz raziskave, jih je večina že imela stik z astmatikom in ga tudi obravnavala. Medicinska sestra mora vedeti, kako aplicirati terapijo in ukrepati v primeru astmatičnega napada.

Secondary abstract: Theoretical starting points: Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by chronic respiratory tract inflammation. Patients treated appropriately do not have breathing problems, are physically capable, do not have acute exacerbations, and have regular spirometry measurements. Nurses have an essential role in the healthcare of asthma patients. We aimed to study the nurse’s role in implementing health education for asthma patients. Method: The research was based on a quantitative approach and a descriptive work method. A structured survey questionnaire was used to collect data. The sample was random; registered nurses participated and 102 completed the questionnaire. For the theoretical part, we used primary and secondary sources of data. Results: The questionnaire showed that nurses significantly influence asthma patients’ health education. 52 % of nurses did not acquire sufficient information regarding asthma patient health education, 31 % stated that they knew how to perform spirometry, and the same percentage could correctly perform PEF. During the education, nurses acquired insufficient information on how to intervene in an asthma attack, as they ranked bronchodilation in the ninth place out of twelve, meaning that only 38 % of nurses would apply bronchodilatation during an asthma attack. Nurses should control patients’ knowledge of the correct therapy use more often and in more detail. Discussion: A nurse needs to have sufficient knowledge regarding asthma and asthma patients’ treatment, as it is evident that most of them have already dealt with asthma patients in clinical practice. Nurses should also be able to apply therapy and take action in case of an asthma attack.
