Abstract

Vrednotenje je proces podajanja pomena pri tvorbi besedila na podlagi subjektove ocene, stališča, mnenja, namena in sodbe. Michael Halliday je z razvojem sistemsko-funkcijskega jezikoslovja omogočil oblikovanje empiričnih orodij za proučevanje vrednotenja. Cilj magistrskega dela je raziskati, kako se vrednotenje kaže v izbranih novinarskih prispevkih. Z jezikovno-stilno analizo sem v dveh izvodih časopisa Delo, ki sta izšla s triletnim razmikom, vrednotenje označil, razvrstil in uvrstil v kategorije vrednotenja. Precejšen del vrednotenja se jezikovno uresničuje s prislovi, vezniškimi besedami, predlogi in členki. Vrednotenje s pridevniki, samostalniki in glagoli je vključevalo rabo besed, ki so v Slovarju slovenskega knjižnega jezika označene s kvalifikatorji, kar pri mnogih odraža njihovo stilno zaznamovanost. Več vrednotenja v prispevkih poročevalne zvrsti kot pa v prispevkih presojevalne zvrsti odraža rahljanje žanrskih norm ter zastiranje ločnice med poročevalnimi in presojevalnimi poročevalskimi besedili. V prispevkih poročevalne zvrsti se je v novejšem izvodu časopisa obseg vrednotenja podvojil v primerjavi s starejšim izvodom.

Secondary abstract: Appraisal is a process of setting a meaning while forming a text on the basis of the subject`s evaluation, stance, opinion, intent and judgement. Michael Halliday has, with the invention of Systemic-Functional Linguistics, enabled the shaping of empirical tools for the study of appraisal. The goal of master`s thesis is to study the ways in which appraisal takes place in selected journalistic texts. With linguistics-style analysis in two editions of newspaper Delo, which were published in a three years span, I marked and categorised appraisals, then gave them categories of appraisal. A considerable amount of appraisals were adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions and particles. Appraisals with adjectives, nouns and verbs included use of words, which are marked with qualifiers in the Dictionary of Standard Slovenian Language, reflecting stylistic marking in many of them. More appraisals in the articles of the informative style then in the articles of the interpretive style reflects loosening of the genre norms and blurring of the line between informative and interpretive news texts.The amount of appraisal has doubled in the articles of the informative style in the newer edition of the newspaper compared to the older edition.
