Abstract
Sodobno delovno okolje, zlasti tekmovalno, se sooča z vse večjim izzivom stresa in njegovega vpliva na dobro počutje zaposlenih. Tekmovalno delovno okolje, čeprav je pogosto namenjeno povečanju uspešnosti in organizacijskega uspeha, lahko vodi tudi do čustvene izčrpanosti, medosebnih konfliktov in upada motivacije. Stres se zato posledično pojavi zaradi pritiska za doseganje ciljev, nerealnih planov in rokov ter primerjanja s sodelavci. V teoretičnem delu magistrske naloge smo opredelili ključne koncepte – stres, dobro počutje, tekmovalno delovno okolje, kulturo, klimo, ter učinke na posameznika in ekipo. Raziskovali smo odnos med tekmovalnim delovnim okoljem, stresom in dobrim počutjem zaposlenih. V empiričnem delu smo s pomočjo zaposlenih v organizaciji preučili njihovo perspektivo o stresu in dobrem počutju v tekmovalnem delovnem okolju. Naša raziskava je pokazala, da lahko tekmovalnost sicer motivira nekatere posameznike, vendar lahko pogosto tudi vodi v povečan stres in zmanjšuje sodelovanje med zaposlenimi. Večina zaposlenih ob tem poudarja pomen podpore duševnemu zdravju, jasno postavljanje ciljev in gojenje delovne kulture, ki ne ceni le dosežkov, temveč tudi dobro počutje zaposlenih.

Stress and well-being in a competitive work environment |
| Secondary abstract: |
The modern work environment, especially a competitive one, faces the increasing challenge of stress and its impact on employee well-being. Whilst a competitive working environment is often designed to increase the performance and success of the organization, it can also lead to emotional exhaustion, interpersonal conflict and reduced motivation. Stress arises from the pressure to achieve targets, unrealistic plans and deadlines and from complimenting colleagues. In the theoretical part of the master's thesis, we defined the most important terms – stress, well-being, competition, environment, culture, climate and effects on the individual and the team. In the empirical part, we examined the perspectives of employees in the organization on stress and well-being in a competitive work environment. Our research showed that while competition can motivate some individuals, it often leads to increased stress and decreased co-operation among employees. Most employees emphasize the importance of promoting mental health, setting clear goals and fostering a work culture that values not only performance but also employee wellbeing. |
