Abstract

V teoretičnem delu bom obravnavala tehniko kolagrafijo, raziskala vlogo svetlostnih in globinskih ključev v umetnosti in predstavila motiv krajine skozi umetnostnozgodovinski in sodobni vidik, s poudarkom na slovenskem prostoru. Raziskovalni del bo vključeval praktično preizkušnjo tehnike, analizo lastnih likovnih del, učnih ur v razredu in likovnih izdelkov učencev. Osrednji cilj raziskave bo opazovanje usvajanja nove grafične tehnike, odzivov učencev na izzive likovnega procesa ter njihovo razumevanje sodobne interpretacije klasičnega motiva.

Secondary title: Searching for light in the landscape
Secondary abstract: In my master’s thesis, I will explore the printmaking technique of collagraphy – lightening from a dark base, which belongs to the more contemporary methods of intaglio printing. Through my own artistic practice, I will examine its visual and technical potentials, analyze its strengths and limitations, and assess the level of difficulty for its implementation in the school setting. Based on my own experience, I will develop adaptations of the technological process that enable the use of this technique in elementary school environments. Special emphasis will be placed on the landscape motif and the use of tonal (value) and spatial keys, both in my own works and in the artistic expression of students. I will focus particularly on the potential for transferring a demanding printmaking technique into an educational context and the types of responses it elicits among pupils. I will conduct art lessons with 8th and 9th grade students, during which we will jointly explore the process of creating with the collagraphy technique, identify visual principles of light and dark contrast, and engage with the classical landscape motif through a contemporary artistic lens. In the theoretical section, I will address the collagraphy technique, investigate the role of tonal and spatial keys in visual art, and present the landscape motif through both an art historical and a contemporary perspective, with a particular focus on the Slovenian context. At the same time, I will analyze spatial keys, important for understanding and creating pictorial space, through tools of visual theory. The research part will include practical experimentation with the technique, analysis of my own artworks, classroom lessons, and evaluation of students’ art projects. The main objective of the study is to observe how students acquire a new printmaking technique, how they respond to the challenges of the artistic process, and how they understand a contemporary interpretation of a classical motif.
