Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo obravnavali vključevanje STEM vsebin v predšolsko obdobje, na katerem je poudarek na medsebojni povezanosti vsebin s področja znanosti, tehnologije, inženirstva in matematike. V teoretičnem delu smo raziskali pomen STEM za celostni razvoj otroka, predstavili različne didaktične pristope k uvajanju teh vsebin in podrobneje opisali posamezna področja. Dotaknili smo se tudi aktualnih raziskav, ki se nanašajo na izvajanje STEM dejavnosti v zgodnjem otroštvu. V praktičnem delu smo v Vrtcu Navihanček pri OŠ Središče ob Dravi načrtovali in izvedli osem izbranih STEM dejavnosti. Osrednji cilj praktičnega dela je bil otrokom približati STEM skozi igro in raziskovanje ter spremljati njihovo sodelovanje, zanimanje in odzive ob izvajanju nalog. Na podlagi evalvacij smo ugotovili, da so otroci pokazali izrazito zanimanje za STEM dejavnosti. V dejavnostih so sodelovali zelo aktivno, z navdušenjem in radovednostjo, kar je pozitivno vplivalo na njihov proces učenja in raziskovanja.

Secondary title: STEM in early childhood education
Secondary abstract: The thesis addresses the integration of STEM content into the preschool period, with an emphasis on the interconnection of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In the theoretical part, we explored the importance of STEM for the holistic development of the child, presented various didactic approaches to introducing these contents, and provided a more detailed description of each area. We also considered recent research related to the implementation of STEM activities in early childhood. In the practical part, we planned and carried out eight selected STEM activities at the Navihanček Kindergarten within the Središče ob Dravi Primary School. The main objective of the practical work was to introduce STEM to children through play and exploration, and to observe their participation, interest, and responses during the activities. Based on the evaluations, we found that the children showed strong interest in STEM activities. They participated very actively, with enthusiasm and curiosity, which had a positive effect on their learning and exploration processes.
